Potters Bar sits where the M25 meets the A1(M), which makes it one of the best-connected small towns in the South East for airport runs. Our Potters Bar airport transfers run pre-booked, fixed-fare taxis from EN6 to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City. Get an instant quote online or call +44 1582 297190.
We cover Potters Bar town centre, the station area, Darkes Lane, the Causeway, Mutton Lane, Baker Street and the residential roads around Oakmere Park. South Mimms, with its famous motorway services at the M25/A1(M) junction, is covered too, along with Ridge, Shenley, Elstree, Borehamwood's edges and Cuffley.
Local bookings run to the station, the shops, Wyllyotts Theatre for evening shows, and the doctors and schools. Airport runs go in every direction, which is the point of being here: no London airport is far from this junction.
Potters Bar station has Great Northern services to London King's Cross and Moorgate, and north to Stevenage and Cambridge. For London trips, the train is quick and frequent.
For airports, the station is a starting point rather than a solution. Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton all need changes from here, with luggage, across London or around it. A pre-booked taxi collects you from your door and goes direct: Heathrow via the M25 west, Gatwick via the M25 and M23, Stansted via the M25 east and M11, Luton via the A1(M) north. One car, no changes.
The South Mimms interchange, where the M25 meets the A1(M) at junction 24 (M25) and junction 1 (A1(M)), is the reason Potters Bar works for airport transfers. Every London airport is reachable from this one junction without touching central London, and drivers plan each run around the M25's live state.
This is also where fixed fares matter most. The M25 is the most unpredictable road in the country, and a metered fare through a bad stretch is an expensive surprise. Our fare is agreed at booking and does not move, whatever the clockwise carriageway does.
Luton is usually quickest, north on the A1(M). Stansted goes east on the M25 and up the M11, a straightforward run for budget European flights. Heathrow goes west on the M25 to the M4 spur, the long-haul default across its four terminals. Gatwick goes south on the M25 and M23, across its North and South terminals. London City suits business travellers heading for the Square Mile.
State your terminal when you book. Heathrow charges £7 per visit for its terminal drop-off zones (in place since January 2026) and Stansted charges £10 for up to 15 minutes in its Express Set Down; both are included in your fixed quote.
Take the train for London with light luggage; the Great Northern service is fast and frequent. Book the taxi for airports, for groups, for early and late flights, and for any journey where the M25 is the problem rather than the solution.
The practical test is luggage plus changes. A family of four with cases changing trains twice to reach Gatwick is not saving money or time against one fixed-fare car. If your flight is delayed or rescheduled, contact the office so the return pickup can be changed; delays of up to an hour are accommodated, with 45 minutes of free waiting after your flight lands (airport pickups only; £10 per 30 minutes after that).
Vehicles run from saloon (4 passengers, 2 suitcases, 2 cabin bags) to the 8-seater Mini Van (8 passengers, 8 suitcases, 8 cabin bags), with First Class (Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series) and People Carrier between. Best for: the saloon suits couples and solo travellers with standard luggage; First Class suits business travel and special occasions; the People Carrier suits families with children and extra luggage; the Mini Van 8 suits groups of 6–8, sports teams and wedding parties. Baby and child seats are free if requested when booking; availability cannot be guaranteed. Cancellation is free more than 12 hours before pickup (a bank fee applies, minimum £5); 12 to 6 hours costs 50% of the fare, and under 6 hours the full fare. Cancellations are by phone or by replying to your reservation confirmation email, and refunds go to the original card within 3 to 5 working days. Support is on +44 1582 297190 around the clock.
